Estimated 230,000 Devotees to Visit Pashupati by 5 PM

The Pashupati Area Development Trust (PADT) has stated that the number of devotees visiting the Pashupatinath Temple on the first Monday of the month of Shrawan is expected to reach around 230,000 by 5:00 PM.

According to the Trust, lines of devotees had formed since 3:00 AM. Devotees are entering and worshiping at the temple through four different designated routes. Sushil Kumar Gautam, a representative of the Trust, mentioned that data collection is currently underway, so it will take some time to release the exact figures.

He stated:

"Data collection is ongoing. According to the registry details maintained since this morning, it is estimated that around 230,000 devotees will have visited Pashupatinath by 5:00 PM on the first Monday of Shrawan. Devotees are paying their respects through four entry routes. Additionally, the number of people visiting just to circumambulate and stroll around the outer area is estimated to reach another 100,000."

According to him, apart from the devotees offering prayers, there is also a significant number of visitors coming to stroll around the Pashupati area. By 5:00 PM, the number of people walking around and touring the outer area is estimated to reach around 100,000.

The Trust stated that the estimate of the number of devotees is based on the registry maintained since the morning and reports received from the management team. Being the first Monday of Shrawan, a massive crowd of devotees has gathered in the Pashupatinath area.
