Government Makes Three Key Decisions for EPS Roster Candidates
Kathmandu – The government has made three decisions in favor of individuals who have passed the Employment Permit System (EPS) exam for South Korea and are listed on the roster but have not yet received an opportunity due to various reasons.
The Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security has decided to make a diplomatic request to the Government of South Korea to extend the validity period of the current EPS roster.
This decision comes after recognizing that the existing roster limit has deprived many candidates—despite passing the EPS exam—of employment opportunities in South Korea.
Similarly, the ministry has decided to take necessary diplomatic initiatives to increase South Korea’s employment quota for Nepali workers under the EPS system, in response to the demands of individuals listed on the roster.
In addition, a task force will be formed to provide recommendations—with necessary suggestions—to ensure transparency and fairness in processes such as sending the personal details of roster-listed candidates to employers in South Korea.
Ministry spokesperson Pitambar Ghimire stated that efforts are underway to implement the ministerial-level decision made on Poush 18.
