Electricity Supply 90% Restored in Nuwakot

Kathmandu. Electricity supply has been restored to additional areas of Nuwakot district following the charging of the Chapali–Devighat right circuit. Currently, power service is back online in approximately 90% of the district, with reports indicating improvements in both supply stability and voltage quality.

The newly charged areas include Bidur-6, the remaining parts of Bidur-12, about half of Bidur-3, Ward No. 1, 2, 3, 5, and 6 of Tarakeshwor Rural Municipality, and Belkotgadhi-7. Along with this, 31 additional transformers have also been charged.

Areas where electricity supply is yet to be restored include the remaining half of Bidur-3, Tarakeshwor-4, Kispang Rural Municipality, Belkotgadhi-8, and Bidur-10. Work on charging and power restoration in these areas is reportedly ongoing.

Various 66 kV transmission lines are in operation to supply electricity to Nuwakot. Through the 66 kV Chapali–Devighat-1 circuit, power is supplied across the Trishuli River to about half of the Bidur area and towards Kispang. Similarly, the 66 kV Chapali–Devighat-2 circuit supplies power to most of Bidur, Battar, and surrounding areas.

Through the 66 kV Balaju–Trishuli-1 line via the Kalika Substation, electricity is being supplied towards Dhunche, Naukunda Rural Municipality, and Kalika Rural Municipality in Rasuwa. Meanwhile, the 66 kV Balaju–Trishuli-2 line supplies power to the entire Chaughada Substation area and the Samundratar Substation area. With nearly 90% of the power system restored, the supply situation in Nuwakot has become more stable and reliable compared to before.
