Police Inspector General Directs Reliable Security for Upcoming Elections
Police Inspector General Dan Bahadur Karki has instructed police personnel to mobilize and create a reliable security plan to ensure the upcoming elections are held in a fearless and impartial environment.
He gave these instructions to police staff via video conference from the Nepal Police Headquarters in Naxal regarding the security sensitivities and contemporary issues to be adopted in the context of the upcoming elections.
Inspector General Karki emphasized the need to collect information on criminal activities and arrange effective security measures to prevent any criminal incidents in their respective areas.
According to the Police Headquarters, he also directed staff to perform their duties with increased activity, giving special priority to crime investigation, revenue leakage at border points, seizure of weapons, traffic management, and the arrest of absconding defendants.
The head of the Operations Department at Police Headquarters, Additional Inspector General of Police Uma Prasad Chaturvedi, and the head of the Crime Investigation Department, Additional Inspector General of Police Sushil Singh Rathaur, also requested the staff deployed in the field to adapt themselves according to the situation.
