Election Police Beaten During Training in Rolpa

An incident has come to light in Rolpa where election police were beaten by their "Guruba," or training instructors, severely enough to require hospitalization.

Although the police initially settled the matter quietly after it occurred last Monday, the reality of the situation has finally emerged. A total of 104 election police officers were injured when the regular police personnel assigned for training indiscriminately struck them with batons.

According to Dr. Neeraj Ghartimagar, a physician at Rolpa Hospital in Reugha involved in their treatment, 16 individuals were admitted to the hospital and later discharged after receiving care.

He noted that three people underwent X-rays, while most had blue bruises on their backs and one person had bruising on their hip. An election policeman, speaking on the condition of anonymity, stated that some mobile phones were also broken during the baton charge.
