SEE Results in Madhesh Worrying: Khushbu Oli Urges Declaration of ‘Educational Emergency’

Janakpur – The results of this year’s Secondary Education Examination (SEE) have revealed a serious educational crisis in Madhesh Province. While the national pass rate is 62%, only 28% of students in Madhesh Province passed. Out of a total of 59,749 examinees, 42,779 (72%) were non-graded.

Against this backdrop, Khushbu Oli, central member and Deputy Head of the Training Department of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), met the Chief Minister of Madhesh Province on Monday and submitted a detailed memorandum. She described this result not just as an academic failure but as a grave challenge with long-term implications for the social, economic, and political future of Madhesh Province, and urged immediate corrective action.

Key suggestions presented in the memorandum:

Collect detailed data from each school to identify non-graded students.

Support failing students through bridge classes and remedial programs.

Provide regular training and improve the evaluation system for teachers.

Ensure school management is free from political interference and is transparent.

Provide career guidance, mental empowerment, and motivation programs for students.

Declare an ‘Educational Emergency’ across the province with special policies, programs, and budget allocations.

Khushbu Oli said:

“Education is not just a personal opportunity; it is a fundamental right guaranteed by the Constitution. The government must take decisive steps immediately to prevent the future of around 43,000 students from falling into darkness.”
