Industry Federation Urges Economic Development as Key Election Agenda
Kathmandu – Chandraprasad Dhakal, President of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), has stated that the development of the country’s economy should become a common agenda in the upcoming elections.
Speaking at the inauguration of the Waling Festival in Syangja, President Dhakal urged all political parties to prioritize economic development in their election manifestos and make it a shared agenda.
He also requested that, as political parties are currently preparing their manifestos, they include the agendas that the private sector has been promoting for the country’s economic growth.
He emphasized that the private sector has long been striving to promote economic development through industrial growth and create employment opportunities within the country, and that these agendas should also receive priority in the upcoming elections.
President Dhakal recalled that during his leadership of the federation, efforts were made to amend certain traditional laws that hindered economic investment and to update the federation’s statutes in a timely manner to suit contemporary needs.
