Dry Landslide at Tatopani Customs Area Damages Armed Police Force Structures

A dry landslide occurred on Friday night near the Tatopani customs area in Bhotekoshi Rural Municipality-3, Sindhupalchok, causing damage to several structures belonging to the Armed Police Force (APF) Nepal Boarder Out Post (BOP) Tatopani.

According to the Armed Police Force, rocks were thrown as a dry landslide fell at around 1:15 AM on Friday night from a hill about 200 to 300 meters high northwest of the BOP, damaging police infrastructure. No human casualties occurred during the incident.

The falling debris broke a window glass in the first-line barracks, created a hole in the wall of the second-line barracks, and left six holes in its tin roof. Furthermore, one duty post was completely destroyed while another sustained partial damage, and a hole was punctured in the wall of the APF Inspector's bathroom.

The APF reported additional damage to Himalayan jackets, a national flagpole, the inventory store building, and the stairs in front of the main entrance. Following the incident, security personnel have been collecting details of the damage and managing necessary safety measures.
