Dog Refuses to Leave Ruins as Master Goes Missing in Bhote Koshi Flood
Kathmandu. The flood swept away the home. It swept away the shelter. In a single moment, a world built over years turned desolate. The homeowner went missing in that devastating flood. However, an innocent dog, having lost both its home and its master, is still not ready to leave that spot.
This scene seen in the Bhote Koshi flood-affected area has made the pain of the disaster even more poignant. The place where the house once stood has now turned into ruins. Nothing remains around it. Yet the dog sits there in a despondent mood—perhaps in the hope that its master will return.
The flood has not only swept away human homes, property, and families, but it has also devastated the safe world of pets. While a house may be just a physical structure for humans, for such innocent animals, that very home and the people living there constitute their entire world.
Due to its intimacy and sense of belonging with its master, a dog cannot easily forget its home and its people. That is why, even when everything is lost, it can be seen sitting in the same spot, waiting for its master.
Even though the disaster took away everything, hope still remains. Believing that its master will return one day, the eyes of this innocent creature are still fixed on the path.
