District Administration Office Halts All Programs, Including Youth Association Rally Scheduled for Tomorrow

The District Administration Office, Kathmandu, under the Ministry of Home Affairs, has issued an extremely urgent notice prohibiting the holding of any kind of rallies, processions, sit-ins, assemblies, or demonstrations without prior approval.
The Office stated that it has received information that various groups are planning to hold a motorcycle rally and assembly in Kathmandu on 2082/06/25 (Saturday).
Taking into consideration the vandalism, arson, and damage to public/private property that occurred during the 'Gen Z' movement on Bhadra 23, this decision has been made to maintain peace and security.
The District Administration Office has announced that it has decided not to grant approval for any program as such activities could increase security challenges.
The notice, signed by Chief District Officer Ishwar Raj Paudel, mentions that it has been issued in accordance with Section 6, Subsection 3, Clause (a) of the Local Administration Act 2028 and Section 19 of the Police Act 2012.
