17 People Passed Away and 24 Injured in Dhading Bus Accident
Kathmandu: A passenger bus traveling from Pokhara to Kathmandu met with an accident in Dhading, resulting in 17 deaths and 24 injuries. This morning, at approximately 1:30 AM, the bus with registration number Ga 1 Kha 1421 plunged into the Trishuli River from the Prithvi Highway at Bhaisigauda, Benighat Rorang Rural Municipality-5, Dhading.
According to Armed Police Force spokesperson Bishnu Prasad Bhatta, the bodies of 17 people killed in the accident have been recovered so far. The 24 injured individuals were rescued and taken to various hospitals.
The identities of the deceased and the injured are yet to be confirmed. The cause of the accident remains unknown. Rescue operations are currently underway at the site through the coordination of all three security agencies.
He further informed that a team from the Armed Police Force Nepal Disaster Management Base, Adamghat, led by Deputy Superintendent of Police Sunil Giri, along with a diving team from the Disaster Management Training Institute, Kurintar, has been deployed for the rescue efforts.
