Nepali Congress Expresses Condolences Over the Demise of Dr. Pandey

Bhishma Raj Angdembe, the leader of the Nepali Congress Parliamentary Party, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of citizen leader, former Finance Minister, and tireless warrior of the democratic movement, Dr. Devendra Raj Pandey.

Issuing a message of condolence and tribute on Saturday, Leader Angdembe stated that he was deeply pained by the news of Dr. Pandey's demise.

Angdembe mentioned that Dr. Pandey’s contributions to the strengthening of democracy, civil liberties, human rights, good governance, transparency, and accountable governance in Nepal will always be remembered with respect in history.

He further noted that the leading role played by Dr. Pandey on behalf of civil society during the 2006 (2062/063 BS) People's Movement, and the fearless voice he continuously raised against autocracy, remain invaluable assets of the democratic movement.

The message highlighted that as a Finance Secretary, Finance Minister, development thinker, and public intellectual, Dr. Pandey made significant contributions to elevating the discourse on Nepal's economic policy, public administration, good governance, and development to new heights.

Angdembe stated that with the passing of Dr. Pandey, the country has lost a sharp intellectual, a moral leader, and a staunch advocate of democratic values.

He offered his heartfelt tributes to the late Dr. Devendra Raj Pandey and wished for the eternal peace of the departed soul.
