CM Baniya Warns Hetauda Hospital Management Following Surprise Inspection
Hetauda. Bagmati Province Chief Minister Indra Bahadur Baniya has drawn the serious attention of the Hetauda Hospital Management Committee after finding doctors and staff absent during duty hours. He warned that strict action would be taken if the responsible bodies do not take immediate corrective steps.
Chief Minister Baniya conducted a surprise inspection of Hetauda Hospital, operated under the Madan Bhandari Academy of Health Sciences, on Wednesday evening. After finding doctors and staff missing during their shifts, he immediately summoned the Chairman of the Hospital Management Committee, Bhimsagar Guragain, to express his concern.
A high-level discussion on this matter was also held at the Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers on Thursday. The meeting was attended by Ministry Secretary Dr. Sumitra Gautam, Academy Vice-Chancellor Dr. Pradeep Gyawali, the Registrar, Hospital Management Committee Chairman Guragain, and Acting Director Dr. Hari Bahadur Khadka.
According to the Chief Minister's Chief Personal Secretary, Milan Pudasaini, instructions were given during the discussion to immediately alert and reform the doctors and staff who were absent during duty hours. A clear warning was issued that if the instructions are not implemented, the provincial government will take necessary action against irresponsible doctors, staff, and the hospital administration.
Chief Minister Baniya instructed staff to provide notification at least one day in advance when taking leave, to manage duties in a way that does not affect patient care, and to mandatorily wear uniforms during duty hours. Additionally, he urged for health equipment to be kept in good working condition and for special attention to be paid to the cleanliness of the hospital premises.
Stating that providing quality and effective health services to citizens is a priority of the provincial government, Chief Minister Baniya cautioned the hospital administration to deliver services in a responsible, transparent, and result-oriented manner.
