Election Commission Publicizes Civic Education Resource Handbook

Kathmandu – The Election Commission has released the ‘Civic Education Promotion Resource Handbook for Election Programs.’

The Commission made the Election Education Resource Handbook for Social Studies Teachers, 2082 BS, public via its website with the slogan ‘Expansion of Election Education and Information: Infrastructure for Free and Fair Elections.’ The resource material includes various subject matters across seven chapters.

Chapter one includes Democracy and the Constitution, chapter two includes provisions regarding elections and political parties, chapter three includes the electoral system, various levels of elections, and inclusivity, and chapter four includes subject matter regarding the election cycle and processes (voting process, NOTA (No Vote), vote counting, etc.).

Similarly, chapter five mentions election management bodies and related laws, chapter six mentions compliance with the election code of conduct, monitoring, and observation, and chapter seven mentions election stakeholders, the duties and rights of citizens, the role of teachers in the election process, and matters related to visiting the Election Education and Information Center.
