Suman Sharma Appointed as CEO of Prabhu Bank
Kathmandu. Suman Sharma has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Prabhu Bank. The meeting of the bank's Board of Directors held on February 3 decided to appoint Sharma as CEO for a four-year term, effective from the same day.
Sharma, a resident of Kageshwari Manohara Municipality-8 in Kathmandu district, has more than two decades of experience in the banking sector. He previously served as the CEO of Machhapuchchhre Bank and the former Sunrise Bank, and has also worked as the Deputy CEO at Global IME Bank. He began his banking career at Nepal SBI Bank.
As the bank has recently been facing challenges such as rising non-performing loans and the non-distribution of dividends, it is expected that Sharma's leadership will lead Prabhu Bank toward a path of improvement.
By the second quarter of the current fiscal year, the bank's non-performing loans have reached 7.94 percent, and the bank has been unable to distribute dividends for the past three fiscal years.
