BP Highway Blocked Due to Flooding in Roshi River
Ramechhap. The BP Highway has been obstructed following a flood in the Roshi River. Road movement was halted this morning (Monday) after the water level in the river rose.
The District Police Office, Kavre, has informed that vehicular movement on the BP Highway has been completely closed for the time being. According to the police, the water level in the Roshi River increased following continuous rainfall in the Kushadevi area. The decision to close the highway was made due to the increased potential risk.
Police stated that information regarding the reopening of the road will only be issued through another notice once the river flow becomes normal and there are no obstructions on the road. Passengers and drivers have been urged to use alternative routes and avoid taking unnecessary risks. For further information, police have also requested individuals to contact 100 or 103.
Following the destruction of the road by floods in the Roshi River, transportation had been operating temporarily via a constructed diversion. The road is frequently closed whenever there is even a minor flood in the river.
