Beni School Hosts Children’s Day Program on Education and Child Marriage

Beni, Myagdi — On the occasion of the 61st National Children’s Day, Shri Vidyoday Primary School, located in Beni–10, Wakhet, Myagdi, is organizing a panel discussion on the topic, “Why Has Community Education Declined, Who is Responsible, and What is the Solution?”

The program will include participants from the education sector, social organizations, and teachers. The panel will feature Mayor Surat KC, President of the Social Development Committee Chakra KC, Deputy Principal Rekha Kaushal Regmi from Myagdi Multipurpose Campus, Principal Somnath Dhungana of JamunakharkA Model School, and Former President of the Teachers’ Association, Myagdi, Jayaram Subedi. The session will be moderated by Prakash Adhikari.

The panel discussion aims to identify the reasons behind the decline of community education, explore possible solutions, and develop a shared action plan involving teachers, parents, and the community.

According to the school’s Information Officer, Amrita G.C. Roka, the program will highlight the current state of community education and present concrete suggestions for improvement.

Additionally, under the organization of Beni Municipality and school management, a municipality-level speech competition on “The Role of Local Government in Reducing Child Marriage” will also be conducted. School in-charge Shobhakanta Lamichhane stated that students from grades 1 to 8 in all community and institutional schools within Beni Municipality can participate.

Moreover, Sujan Pun, Head of the Additional Department, informed that a three-day sports week will be organized on Bhadra 27, 28, and 29 to promote the overall development of students. On the 29th, the results and analysis of the first quarterly examination will also be published. Teachers, parents, students, and local stakeholders have been invited to actively participate in the program.
