Basanta Shrawan at Hanuman Dhoka: President Worships Goddess of Knowledge Saraswati
President Ram Chandra Paudel attended the special Basant Shrawan ceremony organized at Nasal Chowk in Hanuman Dhoka Durbar on Friday morning on the occasion of this year's Shri Panchami (Basanta Panchami).
On that occasion, the chief priest of the Hanuman Dhoka Care Office provided Abhishek, Tika, garlands, and floral offerings to President Paudel.
During the ceremony, President Paudel performed a worship ritual for Saraswati, the goddess of knowledge, while a contingent of the Nepalese Army offered a salute in his honor.
The ceremony was attended by Sabita Paudel, Vice President Ram Sahay Prasad Yadav, Prime Minister Sushil Karki, National Assembly Chairperson Narayan Dahal, ministers, heads of constitutional bodies, and other distinguished dignitaries.
It is a tradition to worship Saraswati, the goddess of knowledge, on the occasion of Basant Panchami. There is a belief that listening to the Basant Shrawan on this occasion brings happiness, peace, and prosperity.
