Divya Dev to Play a Leading Role in ‘Baa: Ek Yoddha’

Kathmandu. The movie was announced, filming began, and it has now reached its final stages. However, the production team carefully kept one thing secret—the film's cast. 

Amidst the curiosity regarding which actors are performing, the production team of the movie ‘Baa: Ek Yoddha’ has finally started revealing its lead characters.

The production side, which previously provided no formal information about the cast, announced in the final stages of filming that actor Divya Dev Pant has been signed for the lead role.

Filming for the movie began on Chaitra 9, and from the early days, it maintained suspense regarding the names of the actors. However, the confusion was cleared a few days ago when photos of actress Jharana Thapa and her daughter Suhana Thapa from the filming set were made public.

Jharana and Suhana are acting together on screen for the first time. The special highlight is that this real-life mother and daughter will also appear as mother and daughter in the movie.

With Divya Dev’s name now public, the film's cast appears well-balanced and strong. The production team has not yet disclosed the specifics of his role.

Renowned composer Hari Lamsal, who has contributed dozens of timeless songs to the Nepali music industry, is making his directorial debut with this film. Lamsal, an established figure in music and singing, also prepared the story and screenplay for this movie himself. After a long musical journey, he has entered the field of direction with a social and emotion-driven story.

The film attempts to cover a very poignant and realistic story of Nepali society. As the name clarifies, it is a story of a father. The main plot revolves around the relentless sacrifices, lifelong challenges, and struggles a father undergoes to make his child's future bright.

According to director Lamsal, this is not just entertainment but a pure social and emotional cinema that portrays the existence and importance of a father.

Basanta Lamsal is the producer of the film, which is being produced under the banner of 'Artistic Entertainment.' Basanta, who is also a composer and singer, previously produced the film 'Karma' starring Bipin Karki.

Shiva Ram Shrestha is handling the cinematography, while Tara Nath Neupane is the chief assistant director. Currently, the final stages of filming are taking place at various locations in Kathmandu.

The production team is preparing to announce the release date after reviewing the technical post-production work once the entire filming process is completed.
