Filming of Movie ‘Ba: Ek Yoddha’ Begins with Formal Ceremony at Pashupatinath

Kathmandu. Hari Lamsal, an established name in the Nepali music sector, is now set to appear in film direction. The formal filming of the new Nepali movie ‘Ba: Ek Yoddha,’ written and directed by him, commenced on Monday.

The construction work began with a religious ceremony and worship performed by the film's production team at the Pashupatinath Temple premises in Kathmandu.

Produced under the banner of Artistic Entertainment, this film aims to highlight a poignant aspect of Nepali society.

Hari Lamsal, who has presented dozens of popular songs to Nepali listeners as a singer and composer for a long time, is making his debut as a director through this film. Lamsal himself prepared the story and screenplay of the movie. Having already created a distinct identity in music, there is growing curiosity and interest regarding Lamsal's directorial capabilities.

The film's title and the released poster theme suggest a purely social narrative. It is understood that the film seeks to portray the importance of a father in a Nepali family, the sacrifices and struggles he makes for his children's future, and the challenges he faces throughout his life as a 'warrior.' Specifically, the film will bring to the screen the story of the responsibilities a father carries on his shoulders in rural and urban society.

Established and experienced cinematographer Shivaram Shrestha will handle the filming of this movie. Shrestha has already demonstrated his skills by filming movies like ‘Purna Bahadur Ko Sarangi,’ ‘Boksi Ko Ghar,’ and ‘Paran,’ which were highly discussed and proved to be commercial blockbusters. Because of his cinematography, ‘Ba: Ek Yoddha’ is expected to be visually excellent.

The producer of this film is Basanta Lamsal. Lamsal, who is also a singer and creator, previously produced the film ‘Karma’ starring actor Bipin Karki.

Taranath Neupane is the chief assistant director of the film.

Although the production team has started filming, the names of the actors in the lead roles have been kept secret. The production team stated that the names have not been made public with the intention of giving a 'surprise.'

Since Artistic Entertainment has worked on quality projects before, this film is expected to provide the audience with an entertaining 'social drama' based on emotional and social subject matter. According to the production side, the release date of the film will be fixed only after the entire filming process is completed.
