Anup Bikram Shahi Joins ‘Sumnima’; Reunites with Director Milan Chams for Fourth Time

Kathmandu, July 22 – Actor Anup Bikram Shahi has been signed for Sumnima, a new romantic film directed by Milan Chams. This marks the fourth collaboration between Shahi and Chams, who previously worked together in Hasiya, Bir Bikram, and Lily Bily. They are reuniting after a gap of seven years since Lily Bily.

According to Shahi, Sumnima will feature him in a completely new kind of role he has never portrayed before, and he is currently preparing for the part.

Jointly produced by Gorkha Films and Chams Entertainment, the film’s title may suggest a female-centric story, but director Chams clarified that Sumnima will be a pure love story.

Actress Upasana Singh Thakuri and actor Kunsang Bomjan have already been cast in lead roles. The selection of other cast members and technical crew is still underway.

Written by Rajiv Thapa, the film is scheduled to begin shooting this August in both London and Nepal.

Previously, director Chams’ biopic Anjila became a blockbuster and set a record as the highest-grossing film in Nepal’s biopic genre. Chams stated that Sumnima is also being developed with the international market in mind.
