Aniket Pakhrin Lama Selected Through Audition for Film ‘Sumnima’

Kathmandu – Emerging actor Aniket Pakhrin Lama has been signed for the upcoming romantic film Sumnima, directed by Milan Chams. Aniket, known for his appearance in the Indian reality show MTV Splitsvilla, was selected through an audition process, director Chams confirmed. He had made it to the Top 8 in the 14th season of Splitsvilla.

Despite being a new face in the film industry, Aniket's confidence, personality, and on-camera presence impressed the production team, according to the director. Sumnima will mark Aniket Pakhrin Lama's debut in the Nepali film industry.

Co-produced by Gorkha Films and Chams Entertainment, Sumnima is a purely romantic film. Although the title may give the impression of a female-centric story, director Chams clarifies that the plot focuses on love, conflict, and cultural context.

Previously, actors Upasana Singh Thakuri, Kunsang Bomjan, and Anoop Bikram Shahi have already been signed for the project. The selection of other cast and technical crew members is currently underway.

The screenplay is written by Rajiv Thapa, and filming is scheduled to begin this August in both London and Nepal. Director Chams' recent biopic Anjila was a box office hit and set a new benchmark for biographical films in Nepal.

Given that success, Sumnima is also being developed with an international audience in mind, Chams added.
