Singer Alina Chauhan Reflects on Freedom One Year After Divorce

The Valentine's week, celebrated as a festival by lovers, is currently underway. While February 14th is Valentine's Day, today is celebrated by couples as Promise Day. On this very day, singer Alina Chauhan shared a post on social media stating that exactly one year ago, she freed herself from a cage.

She wrote, "Today is Promise Day. Everyone is making promises to someone. And I... I am remembering myself today. Exactly one year ago today, I made a decision that I would no longer live in a cage. Breaking the cage built of fear and tears, I began to breathe."

Last year on this day, Magh 19 (February 14), she was legally separated from her ex-husband Bishnu Sapkota. It has been exactly one year since the divorce case she filed in the Kathmandu District Court was finalized. Additionally, she wished herself a Happy Promise Day.
