Alcohol Sale and Distribution Ban Tightened in Makwanpur Ahead of Elections
Hetauda. As the House of Representatives election approaches, the ban on the sale and distribution of alcohol in Makwanpur district has been strictly enforced.
The District Administration Office, Makwanpur, issued a notice on Falgun 14 directing that the sale and distribution of alcohol be prohibited throughout the district until the final results of the election, scheduled for Falgun 21, are announced.
To ensure effective implementation of the decision, the District Security Committee has become active in monitoring. The administration stated that during monitoring, measures have been strictly enforced to ensure that no shops or hotels sell alcohol and that hotels and shops do not operate after 9:00 PM.
The monitoring team was led by Chief District Officer Basanta Adhikari. The team included Assistant Chief District Officer Mohan Raj Joshi, Superintendent of Police Shyam Bahadur Khatri of the District Police Office Makwanpur, Superintendent of Police Nabin Khadka of the Armed Police Force No. 14 Battalion Hetauda, and representatives from relevant agencies.
The administration has warned of legal action if anyone is found selling alcohol in violation of the decision or operating hotels and shops after the designated time. To conduct the election in a peaceful, dignified, and impartial environment, the administration has urged businessmen and the general public to fully comply with the rules.
