Active Participation of ‘Rimai’ Team in World Indigenous Day

The production team of the movie Rimai, which is set to be released on Bhadra 20, has been actively engaged in extensive promotion. Last Saturday, on the occasion of the 31st World Indigenous Day, the film’s team actively participated in rallies held at various locations in the capital, Kathmandu.

The event, organized to protect the identity, culture, and rights of indigenous nationalities, saw the large participation of various organizations, artists, cultural groups, and the general public. Wearing colorful attire, traditional costumes, and showcasing cultural displays, the Rimai team made its presence especially notable during the rally.

Actors, producers, directors, and the entire team associated with the movie participated with the message of preserving the unique identity and culture of the indigenous community. Along with the film crew, indigenous rights activists carried banners, placards, and posters featuring the film’s name while dancing and singing to traditional tunes, drawing the attention of participants towards the movie.

Members of the Rimai team stated that they regarded Indigenous Day not only as a celebration but also as a symbol of struggle for rights, equality, and cultural respect. Director Khil Bahadur Gurung expressed his commitment to bringing the real stories, culture, and challenges of the indigenous community to audiences through the film.

The team claimed that their participation in the World Indigenous Day conveyed the message that artists and filmmakers are also aware of and committed to social and cultural issues. Meanwhile, participants and supporters at the rally praised the identity-focused presence of the Rimai team and expressed excitement about watching the film.

Presented by Gorkha Siranchowk and Ligligkot Films Pvt. Ltd., in collaboration with Roteping Entertainment, the film features performances by Gaumaya Gurung, Kabita Ale Magar, Mao Tse Gurung, Pushkar Gurung, Birmaya Gurung Birbal Ghale, D.B. Gurung, Tek Gurung, and child actors Asim Subba, Prestu Gurung, and Prashna Rana Magar.

Written by Upendra Subba, the film has cinematography by Shailendra Dhoj Karki. Birbal Ghale serves as the executive producer, with Tika Gurung, Jit Yatri Gurung, and Dun Bahadur Ghale as producers, and Binu Gurung, Roshan Bhattarai, and Rajesh Ghimire as co-producers.

The film’s music is composed by Deepak Sharma and Thaneshwar Gautam, with Kiran Chamling Rai as chief assistant director, Bishnu Mainali as production manager, and editing by Mitra D. Gurung.
