3 Quintals of Marijuana Seized in Sarlahi, House Owner Absconding
Sarlahi — Sarlahi Police have seized a large quantity of the illegal drug marijuana. Police recovered approximately 300 kilograms of marijuana from a bamboo grove area in Laxmipur, Kodeshwarnath (Kaudeena) Rural Municipality-1 of the district.
According to Police Spokesperson and Deputy Superintendent of Police Beda Prasad Gautam of the District Police Office, Sarlahi, information was received on Tuesday night at around 10:15 PM that marijuana was hidden inside a tiled-roof and bamboo husk-storage house belonging to local resident Bijan Patel.
Based on the tip-off, a police team deployed from the District Police Office, Sarlahi, searched the house and found 15 sacks of marijuana inside a room. The recovered marijuana weighs approximately 300 kilograms.
Spokesperson Gautam stated that although the marijuana was seized, the house owner, Bijan Patel, remains absconding. A search for him is underway, and further investigation is being conducted to determine who the seized contraband belongs to and where it was brought from.
