CAN Announces 24-Player Training Squad for T20 World Cup 2026

Kathmandu — Nepal has started its preparations from today for the ICC T20 World Cup, which will be held in India and Sri Lanka from February 7 to March 8, 2026. 

The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has called 24 players to a training camp, including members of the national team along with additional players selected on the basis of their performances in the second season of the Nepal Premier League (NPL), which concluded 11 days ago.

Based on their performances in the NPL, players such as Sher Malla, Binod Bhandari, Bhim Sarki, Abinash Bohara, Ishan Pandey, Basir Ahmed, Pratis GC, and Rupesh Kumar Singh have been included in the training camp.

Nepal will play all of its group-stage matches in Mumbai, India. The team has been placed in a group alongside England, West Indies, Bangladesh, and Italy. Nepal will begin its World Cup campaign by facing England on February 7.

The squad for the training camp includes Rohit Paudel, Kushal Bhurtel, Asif Sheikh, Kushal Malla, Sandeep Jora, Dipendra Singh Airee, Gulshan Jha, Nandan Yadav, Aarif Sheikh, Sandeep Lamichhane, Lalit Rajbanshi, Sompal Kami, Lokesh Bam, Aadil Ansari, Karan KC, Shahab Alam, Sher Malla, Bhim Sarki, Ishan Pandey, Binod Bhandari, Abinash Bohara, Pratis GC, Basir Ahmed, and Rupesh Kumar Singh.
