Second Edition of 'Mr. and Miss Little Purbeli' Begins(photos)
Itahari/ The second edition of 'Mr. and Miss Little Purbeli' has commenced with the aim of exposing the hidden talents of children, further refining their intellectual capacity, and preparing them for the future in the arts and fashion industry. The first audition, held in Itahari under the organization of Open Space Pvt. Ltd., formally marked the beginning of the second edition.
Forty children participated in the competition's first audition, which was held on Saturday at Foodshala Cafe in Itahari. The judging panel for the audition, tasked with evaluating the contestants' presentations, included Shreyashi Bhattarai (Winner of Miss SEE Itahari 2025), Sanskriti Dahal (Organiser's Choice Winner of Miss SEE Itahari 2025), Dance Choreographer Manish Giri, and Priyanka Thapa (Organiser's Choice Winner of Miss SEE 2024).
The organizing company, Open Space Pvt. Ltd., successfully completed the first edition last year. Saroj Shrestha, the competition's director, stated that this competition also opens doors for children to enter the entertainment sector. According to Director Shrestha, last year's contestants even got the opportunity to act in films.
Competitor Abi Bhattarai from the first edition received the opportunity to play the childhood role of the famous actor Saugat Malla in the film 'Balidaan'. This confirms that the competition serves as a significant platform for opportunities for children.
Following the completion of the first audition, the organizing body is now quickly preparing for the final audition. Contestants selected from the final audition will proceed to the training phase.
Sajina Shrestha, the CEO of the organizing company, informed that the training will focus on the all-around development of the children. The organizers stated that during the competition's training, instructors will provide coaching to the contestants on crucial subjects such as ramp walk, personality development, speaking style, question-answer ability, and yoga, which will help enhance their confidence and abilities.
