Life Equation/(Quantum Poem) - Saroj K. Joshi

By Saroj K. Joshi

Life—
I once said it was like chess,
a game of moves and strategy.
Now I know—
it is far more complex.

As a child,
life was simple—
addition and subtraction,
small joys, small losses,
everything made sense.

Then came learning,
degrees, achievements—
life turned into calculus,
layers of integration,
depths I thought I understood.

Marriage arrived—
beautiful, smooth, complete—
until suddenly
variables multiplied,
and imaginary numbers appeared
when children became part of the equation.

Then came fractures—
divorce, jobs gained and lost,
choices, mistakes, new beginnings—
like unsolvable problems,
linear paths that never aligned.

I tried to rebuild,
to solve, to fix, to balance—
a new life, a new bond—
like atoms entangled,
hoping connection would bring clarity.

But life did not simplify.

It deepened—
into something beyond reason,
beyond logic.

Quantum.

Where nothing is certain,
where reality shifts,
where what we see
is not what truly is.

Time bends.
Gravity curves.
Control dissolves.

And what we thought we held—
was never ours.

Just an illusion
we learned to believe.
