Sabitra Bhandari 'Samba' Undergoes Successful Knee Surgery
Kathmandu. Sabitra Bhandari ‘Samba’, captain of the Nepali National Women's Football Team, has undergone successful knee surgery. On Wednesday, Samba shared via social media that the surgery was performed in Auckland, New Zealand, by Dr. Simon and his team. She stated that rehabilitation will begin tomorrow under medical supervision.
Due to the difficult situation in the Gulf region, she was unable to travel to Qatar for treatment, leading to the alternative decision to have the surgery in New Zealand. This highlights the importance of flexibility and timely decision-making in athlete health management.
Samba expressed her gratitude to the Nepali communities in Wellington and Auckland, as well as her club Wellington Phoenix and the management team, for their support during this challenging time.
