South Africa Clinches Thrilling Victory Over Afghanistan in T20 World Cup
Kathmandu: South Africa secured a thrilling victory over Afghanistan in today's group-stage match of the T20 World Cup. In a high-stakes encounter held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in India on Wednesday, South Africa defeated Afghanistan following two intense super overs.
In the first super over, South Africa chased a target of 18 runs set by Afghanistan but managed to score 17, pushing the game into a second super over.
Batting first in the second super over, South Africa set a target of 24 runs. Chasing 24, Afghanistan was only able to collect 19 runs in their second super over attempt.
This marks the second win for South Africa in Group D, while Afghanistan has now suffered two consecutive losses. Afghanistan was previously defeated by New Zealand by 10 wickets.
