Kathmandu – The sentimental drama series Sita, which has quickly gained popularity for its women-centric storyline, has taken a dramatic turn with the entry of a new character — Sita’s stepmother. While this twist has stirred curiosity among viewers, it has also drawn criticism from some fans who claim the story is going off track. In response, the actress playing Sita’s mother has spoken out in the media, offering a strong rebuttal to such claims.

Despite having only aired 26 episodes so far, the series has already received impressive viewership, with recent episodes garnering nearly 3 million views within a week. The series is written and directed by Sahin Prajapati, who aims to highlight the emotional struggles, resilience, and relationships of women through the storyline.

Actress Sunisha Bajgai plays the lead role of Sita. She is joined by a talented cast including Balkrishna Wali, Raju Bhujju, Sabita Gurung, Tara KC, Sahin Prajapati, and Samia Karki. The show is broadcast both online and on television, reaching a wide range of audiences.

Amid rising criticism regarding the narrative shift, the actress portraying Sita’s mother addressed the media and remarked, “It’s natural for new characters to enter as the story progresses. However, it’s unfortunate that some viewers criticize without fully understanding the plot. The story is only getting deeper — keep watching.”

According to the production team, upcoming episodes will introduce even more emotional depth and twists. They emphasized that Sita is designed to reflect the many shades of a woman’s life and encouraged audiences to engage with the full narrative before forming opinions.
