Nepali Artists, Journalists, and Beauticians Honored at Global Excellency Honor 2025 in Thailand

Bangkok, Thailand – The “Second Global Excellency Honor, Art, Music & Business Conference–2025” was successfully held yesterday in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand. The event brought together Nepali artists, beauticians, and journalists alongside Thai cultural figures to discuss the promotion of Nepali music, language, and culture in Thailand and to strengthen connections between Nepali speakers abroad and in Nepal.

Conference coordinator, singer and journalist Sarita Bharti, welcomed all participants and highlighted the objective of the event. She noted that the conference, previously held in Malaysia, was organized this year in Thailand to connect Nepalis living abroad.

Prof. Bharati Limbuni, founder, patron, and senior cultural expert of NRN Thailand and the Thai Nepali Association, shared insights on the state of Nepali-speaking communities in Myanmar and Thailand and their devotion to preserving their language and culture. She appreciated the conference for connecting the diaspora with Nepal.

Vice President of the Film Journalists Association of Nepal, Vijay Aawaj Subedi, spoke about the role of film journalists in promoting Nepali art and culture globally. Facilitating the event, Subedi shared the association’s plans to expand its chapters to Thailand, Malaysia, and beyond, following recent expansions in the UAE and Japan. Secretary Navin Giri also expressed a commitment to supporting the issues of the Nepali diaspora through media.

Actor and model Sridev Bhattarai from Nepal highlighted the opportunities for Nepali film and music video shoots in Thailand and expressed interest in collaborating with local artists.

Model Khushi Karki, winner of Mero Universe Dance, shared information about the condition of Nepali-speaking artists in Thailand and discussed her experience filming music videos in Nepal and her visit to Madi Himal.

Shyam Rai, manager of Everest Kitchen Thailand, spoke about promoting traditional Nepali cuisine to both Nepali and international patrons, preserving Nepal’s culinary heritage abroad.

Journalist and lyricist Dabbu Kshatri expressed concern over the forced migration of Nepali-speaking youth from Myanmar and praised the NRN and Thai Nepali Association for promoting Nepali language and culture in Thailand.

Global Excellency Honor 2025 Awards Presented

The event honored several contributors with the Global Excellency Honor 2025.

In Thailand, Prof. Bharati Limbuni and former president of the Thai Nepali Association, Kumar Karki, received the prestigious award.

From Nepal, the honor was presented to:

  • Journalist Vijay Aawaj Subedi
  • Journalist Navin Giri
  • Singer Hemant Shishir

Honorees from the beauty industry included:

  • Niran Tamang, President, Spark Beauty Parlor

Artist and model Khushi Karki was awarded a letter of appreciation for her contributions.

The organizers expressed that the conference played a vital role in promoting Nepali culture and language and fostering unity among the global Nepali community.
