Nepal Exits ICC Women's T20 World Cup Global Qualifier

Kathmandu. Nepal has been knocked out of the group stage of the ongoing ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Global Qualifier held on home soil. Nepal was eliminated after losing its final group-stage match against Scotland today at the TU Cricket Ground.

Chasing a target of 141 runs set by Scotland, Nepal was restricted to just 68 runs. For Nepal, Roma Thapa and Bindu Rawal both scored 14 runs, while Rubina Chhetri added 10 runs; no other players managed to reach double figures.

Captain Indu Barma left the field retired hurt. In bowling, Scotland's Abtaha Maqsood took the highest number of wickets with 3 dismissals. Earlier, after losing the toss and being put in to bat first at the TU Cricket Ground, Scotland scored 140 runs, losing all wickets in the allotted 20 over.

For Scotland, Priyanaz Chatterji scored the highest with an unbeaten 45 runs off 28 balls, including 7 boundaries. In bowling, Nepal's Manisha Upadhyaya took the most wickets with 4 dismissals. Rubina Chhetri took 3 wickets, while Riya Sharma, Sita Rana Magar, and Kabita Joshi took one wicket each.

Nepal managed to secure only one victory during the group stage. From Nepal's group, the Netherlands, Scotland, and Thailand have advanced to the Super Six. Nepal and Zimbabwe finished in fourth and fifth place, respectively, and have been eliminated from the tournament.
