N-PABSAN Futsal Title to New Galaxy, Cricket Continues

Pokhara. The futsal tournament organized by National PABSAN, Kaski, has been won by New Galaxy Secondary School.

In the final match held on Saturday, New Galaxy secured the title by defeating Oxford School 3-1. Oxford, however, had to settle for the runner-up position. Kaski Modernized Academy and Shree Ratnajyoti Secondary School came in third place in the futsal tournament, informed Keshab Sharan Paudel, coordinator of the futsal tournament.

Earlier in the tournament, New Galaxy defeated National Creation 7-0, Shree Ratna Jyoti defeated New Lekhnath 2-0, Kaski Modernized defeated Gorkha English 5-0, New Galaxy defeated Triveni 5-0, Oxford defeated Shining Star 3-1 in a tie-breaker, Oxford defeated Kaski Modernized 1-0, and New Galaxy defeated Shree Ratnajyoti 4-1. Only students of classes 11 and 12 participated in the futsal event. Prizes will be awarded to the winning team on Mansir 26 (December 12), the day of the closing ceremony.

Similarly, in the cricket tournament held on Saturday, in the first match, Siddhartha Lovedale defeated Alpha Academy by 2 wickets. Alpha, which chose to bat after winning the toss, scored 59 runs in 10 overs, while in response, Siddhartha Lovedale scored 60 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 9.4 overs.

In the second match, Anjuli Boarding defeated Gandaki Academy by 9 wickets. Gandaki, which chose to field after winning the toss, scored 42 runs in 10 overs, while in response, Anjuli scored 43 runs for the loss of 1 wicket in 5 overs.

In the third match, Universe Boarding defeated Sunrise by 3 wickets. Sunrise, which chose to bat after winning the toss, scored 52 runs in 10 overs, while in response, Universe scored 53 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 8 overs.

In the fourth match, Gyanjyoti defeated Kantipur by 7 wickets. Gyanjyoti, which chose to field after winning the toss, scored 52 runs in 10 overs, while in response, they scored 53 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 8 overs.

Similarly, in the final match held on Saturday, Hemja Boarding defeated Shree Ratna Jyoti by 14 runs. Hemja, which chose to bat after winning the toss, scored 70 runs in 10 overs, while Shree Ratna Jyoti was all out for 56 runs in 9.1 overs.

The first cricket match on Sunday will be between Oxford and Lawbin Residential at 8 AM, informed Gyanendra Bahadur Thapa, the coordinator of the cricket tournament. Students from classes 1 to 10 participated in the cricket event. This year, N-PABSAN Kaski has organized the Second Grand Child Talent Identification Festival and Sports Competition-2082.

The Child Talent Identification will be held from Mansir 24 to 26 (December 10 to 12) at Pokhara Exhibition Centre, and the sports competition will be held from Mansir 20 to 23 (December 6 to 9) at Pokhara Stadium. The formal inauguration of the program will take place on Mansir 24 (December 10).

1,500 students from schools affiliated with N-PABSAN Kaski will compete in various disciplines, informed Hemant Adhikari, President of N-PABSAN Kaski. Students from 43 affiliated schools of N-PABSAN will compete in the tournament. Trophies and medals will be awarded to the winning schools and students.

Adhikari informed that the participation is expected to be widespread as students and parents from private and community schools in Kaski and neighboring districts will also be able to observe the festival.

The Child Talent Identification includes group folk dance, solo singing, painting, poetry recitation, acting, science and technology, handicrafts (materials made from leaves, straw, and bamboo splints), and English public speaking competition, informed Raju Kayastha, Head of Extra-curricular Activities at N-PABSAN Kaski.

Students from classes 9 to 12 will participate in the English public speaking competition, while students from classes 1 to 10 will participate in the other competitions, informed Premraj Adhikari, Secretary of N-PABSAN Kaski.
