Message of Women Empowerment: ‘Mrs. Purbeli Icon’ Talent Round Concludes

Itahari / The second edition of ‘Mrs. Purbeli Icon,’ which was started with the aim of providing a platform for married women to showcase talent, beauty, and empowerment, held its talent round on Wednesday at Durga Party Palace, Itahari. Eleven finalists impressed the audience and judges by presenting their skills.

Contestants Seema Lakandri, Samita Rai, Archana Sitoula, and Sita Puri performed dances, while Raisha Chaudhary presented a Tharu dance. Parina Rai recited a poem titled Mother, and Urmila Magar presented a poem paying tribute to those martyred during the People’s Movement.

Similarly, Megha Khadka performed a dance to the national anthem, Kabina Pokhrel showcased her singing talent, Srijana Limbu presented jokes, and Ayosha Kunwar displayed her culinary skills by preparing various dishes. Toward the end of the program, judge and singer Ganga Gautam performed one of her own songs, delighting the contestants.

The panel of judges included dance choreographer Basanta Basnet, Open Space Pvt. Ltd. CEO Sajina Shrestha, former president of Itahari Jaycees Yogendra Paudel, and singer Ganga Gautam. The competition is organized by Open Space Pvt. Ltd. and choreographed by Shubheksha Karki.

According to director Saroj Shrestha, the finalists are being trained in beauty, knowledge enhancement, and ramp walk. The organizers stated that the competition is not just a beauty show but also an important medium for women’s empowerment. The grand finale of the second edition of ‘Mrs. Purbeli Icon’ will take place in Itahari on October 11. The winner will receive prizes worth 100,000 rupees.
