Milk Collection Center Established in Manthali, Ramechhap: Market Guaranteed for Farmers
Ramechhap. The worry of selling produced milk has now ended for the farmers of Manthali Municipality-2 in Ramechhap. Farmers, who were previously deprived of income because their produced milk was not being sold, will now be able to easily sell whatever amount of milk they produce right in their own village.
The collection of milk in the village began after Krishnapriya Farm and Milk Dairy Kathmandu established a milk collection center at Dharapani in Manthali Municipality-2. The dairy stated that it has arranged to sell the milk required for the village locally and transport the surplus milk to Kathmandu.
According to the operator, the collection center was established after seeing good potential for milk production and collection in that area. Urging farmers to produce quality milk, the dairy has committed to purchasing milk according to the prices fixed by the government and ensuring timely payments.
Locals believe that the establishment of a milk collection center in the village will directly benefit the farmers. It is expected to encourage the animal husbandry business and inspire youth who left the village for employment to return home.
Surendra Karki, the ward chairperson of Manthali Municipality-2, urged farmers to increase milk production and reap economic benefits now that a collection center is established in the village, stating that it will make a significant contribution to the development of the local agriculture and animal husbandry sectors.
