Crowds of Devotees Bathing and Offering Prayers at Matatirtha (Photos)

Today marks Matatirtha Aunsi, also known as Mother’s Day in Nepal. On this occasion, a large number of devotees have gathered since early morning at Matatirtha, located in Chandragiri Municipality-6, Kathmandu. Devotees have thronged the area to take a holy bath in the Matatirtha pond, offer rituals (tarpan), and perform prayers in remembrance of their mothers.
