Kathmandu Metropolitan Demolishes Structures Built on Nepal Scout Land in Lainchaur
Kathmandu, November 13 — Kathmandu Metropolitan City has bulldozed the structures built on the land belonging to Nepal Scout in Lainchaur.
The property had been occupied and operated by a company owned by former Energy Minister and Nepali Congress leader Dipak Khadka.
The National Headquarters of Nepal Scout, under the Ministry of Youth and Sports, had recently issued a seven-day ultimatum to pay the pending rent arrears.
After the deadline expired, the city police arrived with bulldozers and demolished the buildings and other structures on the site.
Nepal Scout had leased around three ropanis of land in (2065 B.S.) to Khadka Land Pvt. Ltd., which had been operating the Lainchaur Banquet there.
Additionally, a structure housing the restaurant “My Choice” had also been constructed on the same property.
