Preparations Intensify for Indra Jatra in Kathmandu
Kathmandu – As the historic and cultural festival Indra Jatra approaches, preparations are underway in full swing across the capital, especially in the Basantapur area and its surroundings.
Traditionally observed on Bhadra Shukla Chaturdashi, the festival is attended by the President, Prime Minister, and other high-ranking officials. In anticipation of their visit, the main venue around Gaddi Baithak is being decorated and cleaned, with painting and other arrangements ongoing at a rapid pace.
Indra Jatra is considered a festival of pride not only for the residents of the Kathmandu Valley but for all Nepalis. This year, local authorities, security agencies, and cultural organizations are actively involved to ensure the festival is celebrated grandly and in an orderly manner.
