Nepal to Face Scotland in Crucial ICC Women's T20 World Cup Global Qualifier
Kathmandu. Nepal is playing its final and decisive match against Scotland today in the Global Qualifier of the ICC Women's T20 World Cup. The match will begin at 9:00 AM at the TU Ground in Kirtipur.
Nepal is under pressure to win this match to keep its chances of reaching the next round alive. However, a win alone will not be enough. Nepal's progression depends on the margin by which it defeats Scotland, as well as the outcome of the subsequent match between Thailand and the Netherlands.
If Nepal beats Scotland and Thailand defeats the Netherlands, both Nepal and Scotland will have two wins and four points each. In such a scenario, since Scotland has a strong net run rate, Nepal will need to secure a significant victory. If Nepal loses to Scotland, it will be automatically eliminated, and both Thailand and Scotland will qualify. The Netherlands has already qualified.
Nepal was defeated by Thailand by 8 wickets in its first match and by the Netherlands by 2 runs in its second match. However, in the third match, Nepal defeated the Test-playing nation Zimbabwe. The tournament, featuring ten participating teams, will continue until February 1st.
