"Historic Book 'Vidyalok Dharan' Unveiled in Dharan"

Vidyalok Dharan Book Officially Launched Amid Grand Ceremony
Last Saturday, the book Vidyalok Dharan was officially launched. Edited by Chief Editor Khemnath Dahal and Editor Ramesh Dahal, the book was unveiled under the chief guestship of renowned lyricist Kaliprasad Rijal, who holds a prominent place in Nepali literature. The publication was undertaken by the "Pre-Entrance Examination Group – 2025, Dharan."

The event commenced with a welcome speech by Bhupendra Karki, the coordinator of the Publication Management Committee. Among the special guests were distinguished personalities such as Suresh Kumar Sharma, Professor Dr. Madhav Prasad Pokharel, senior advocate Harihar Dahal, Principal of Public High School Indramohan Jha, political analyst Dr. Surendra K.C., former Deputy Mayor of Dharan Sub-Metropolitan City Manju Bhandari, former Acting Secretary Suresh Kumar Verma, former Supreme Court Justice Rajendra Kumar Bhandari, President of the Literary Journalists Association Radheshyam Lekali, President of ANESAS Nepal Chapter Rajendra K.C., actress Priyanka Karki, among others.

The launch ceremony was chaired by Hari Bahadur Karki, the Chairperson of the Public High School Management Committee. Chief guest Rijal inaugurated the event by presenting an animated video banner of the Vidyalok Dharan book via projector. Prior to that, a ceremonial lighting of the lamp (diya) and garlanding of portraits of the late Pandit Chhabilal and former principal of Public High School, late Harihar Prasad Verma, along with a photo of Goddess Saraswati, marked the auspicious beginning of the event.

The historic 532-page book was jointly unveiled by the chief guest and all dignitaries seated on the stage. Special guest Suresh Kumar Sharma gave a detailed presentation on the educational history of Dharan, while Khemnath Dahal shared insights about the publication process of the book.

It was announced that the proceeds from the sale and distribution of the Vidyalok book will be used to establish a permanent scholarship fund. The income generated from this fund will be used to provide annual scholarships to outstanding students studying in community high schools in Dharan.

Professor Dr. Krishna Prasad Dahal and Dr. Sajita Verma presented in-depth reviews of the book. Likewise, Professor Dr. Madhav Prasad Pokharel offered his best wishes while reflecting on the content of the book.

Actress Priyanka Karki, Indramohan Jha, Manju Bhandari, Rajendra Kumar Bhandari, and other dignitaries also spoke about the significance of the book and shared their congratulatory messages.

From the publisher's side, Advocate Dev Bahadur Ghimire and Balram Neupane shared their views on the publication journey. Editor Ramesh Dahal was honored with a letter of appreciation for his significant contribution to Nepali language and literature, and for his excellent editorial work on Vidyalok Dharan. The letter of appreciation was read aloud by Krishna Bhusal, Chief Editor of Milap Monthly.

The event was hosted by Ganesh Subedi, a member of the Film Development Board. Commemorative tokens were presented to the chief guest, special, and distinguished guests.

Chief Guest Kaliprasad Rijal delivered his keynote speech highlighting the importance of the book.

Prominent attendees from the Pre-Entrance Examination Group – 2025 Dharan included Dr. Saroj Dhital, Mahesh Agrawal, Ramkumar Shrestha, Jawaharlal Shrestha, Anand Karki, and others. Also in attendance were Professor Dr. Yagyashwar Niraula, Dr. Bunu Dahal, Dr. Shantimaya Giri, literary figure Bikrambhakta Joshi, Laxman Sitoula, singer Ritu Kandel, literary writer Parvati Bhatt, journalists, intellectuals, entrepreneurs, and other well-known personalities from various fields.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks and closing remarks by Chairperson Hari Bahadur Karki.
