Biratnagar Kings Signs Scotland's Power-Hitter George Munsey for NPL 2025

KATHMANDU, NEPAL - Biratnagar Kings has announced the signing of Scotland's explosive opening batsman, George Munsey, for the upcoming Nepal Premier League (NPL).
The announcement, made on Saturday, is considered one of the most thrilling signings of the season. Known for his aggressive batting and his famous "reverse sweep" shot, Munsey is expected to add power, experience, and flair to the Kings' top order.
The 32-year-old left-handed batsman is a key player for Scotland's T20 team, having scored over 2,600 runs in this format. He has also played for major franchise teams like Dubai Capitals, Karachi Kings, Chennai Braves, Brampton Wolves, and Sylhet Strikers, establishing him as one of the world's best associate batsmen.
Munsey's cricket journey, from starting with golf to becoming Scotland's explosive opener, is a prime example of hard work and love for the game. He showcased his potential on the grand stage during the 2022 T20 World Cup, where he led Scotland to a remarkable victory against West Indies. Munsey is not a new name to Nepali cricket.
He has previously played in domestic franchise leagues in Nepal, where his aggressive style and quick run-scoring ability made him a crowd favourite. Now, he returns to Nepal for the NPL 2025, bringing not only international experience but also a solid understanding of Nepali grounds and conditions to Biratnagar Kings.
Welcoming him to the "Kings Family," the franchise expressed confidence that Munsey's strong mindset and international experience will bring a new edge to the team's batting lineup. His signing has further strengthened the Biratnagar Kings' top order, boosting both the team's ambitions and confidence for the highly competitive NPL 2025 season.
