Himalayan FC Retains Title at Second Himalayan Futsal Gold Cup 2082

Kathmandu – Himalayan FC successfully defended its title at the second Himalayan Futsal Gold Cup 2082, which carried the highest-ever cash prize in Nepali futsal history. In the final held on Friday at Bhatbhateni Health Club, Chabahil, the host team Himalayan FC defeated Thamel Ekata Club 1–0 to secure the championship.
The only decisive goal of the competitive match was scored by Himalayan FC’s Shreekrishna Shrestha. The winning team received a shield, a running trophy, medals, and a cheque voucher of Rs. 300,000, while the runner-up Thamel team received Rs. 100,000, along with medals and a runner-up trophy.
As per the individual awards, Dipesh Shrestha of Himalayan FC was declared Best Goalkeeper, while Lakpa Tamang of Thamel Ekata Club was named Best Player. Both received Rs. 10,000 each. Thokre FC, which won the Fair Play Team title, bagged Rs. 20,000. Similarly, Himalayan FC’s Suresh Shrestha was awarded Best Coach, and Sandeep Tamang Best Manager, each receiving Rs. 5,000.
The closing ceremony was attended by dignitaries including Nepal Police DSP Sukadev Khanal, FNJ Central Secretary Baikuntha Raj Parajuli, and Bagmati Football Association Vice President Rajibman Basnet, who distributed prizes to the winners and outstanding players.
Himalayan FC President Binod Karki stated that the tournament was organized with the aim of nurturing young talent and enhancing their capabilities. Thanking everyone for their support, he expressed that such success has inspired them to organize even better tournaments in the future.
A total of 38 teams participated in the tournament, which ran for two days. The Gold Cup, first launched last year with a prize of Rs. 200,000, introduced the running trophy system for the first time this year. Himalayan FC, the defending champion, successfully retained its crown.
