Diya Pun Signed for 'Maijharo'

Kathmandu: Actress Diya Pun has been signed for the film Maijharo, which will be directed by actor and filmmaker Wilson Bikram Rai (Takme Budha). The production team officially signed her on Saturday.

Previously, actor Dhiraj Magar and actress Miruna Magar had already been signed for the film. With Diya also joining as a lead character, the cast list has expanded. Director Rai stated, "We signed Diya as per the demand of the story. Other actors are also being finalized."

Apart from Dhiraj, Miruna, and Diya, the names of other cast members have not yet been made public, according to the production team. It has been said that the remaining cast will be finalized within a few days. Produced under the banner of Takme Production, Maijharo is based on the lifestyle, culture, and social realities of the eastern hills of Nepal. The film's shooting is set to begin in the first week of Saun (mid-July), and it will be filmed in the scenic locations of Ilam and Panchthar.

The music for the film will be composed by Anmol Gurung and Torempa Hang Rai. Singers featured in the songs include Rajesh Payal Rai, Asmita Adhikari, Jhuma Limbu, and Anmol Gurung. Cinematography will be handled by Saurabh Lama. According to director Rai, Maijharo is his debut project in both writing and directing. Previously, Takme Production was only producing comedy and musical content. With Maijharo, the company is stepping into the feature film industry on the big screen.
