Discussion Program on Ghazal Collection ‘Anayas’ Held in Makwanpur

A discussion program on the ghazal collection Anayas by Ramkrishna Anayas, the president of Ghazal Manch Chitwan, was successfully held in Makwanpur.

Organized as part of the 226th Ghazal Yatra of Ghazal Manch Makwanpur, the event took place on Saturday at the hall of Sahitya Sangam Makwanpur under the chairmanship of Ghazal Manch Makwanpur’s president, Sanjit Shrestha.

Speaking at the event, young ghazal poet Bishwanath Sanjel praised Anayas’ ghazals for vividly portraying stories of youth and sharply addressing contemporary issues. He stated, “The collection powerfully expresses stories of youth. The ghazals also strongly strike against societal anomalies.”

Likewise, former president of Ghazal Manch Chitwan and literary critic Ramesh Prabhat extended best wishes for the success of Anayas and spoke about the tradition and evolution of Nepali ghazal writing.

One of the main highlights of the event was the recitation of half a dozen ghazals by Ramkrishna Anayas himself from his newly published work Anayas. The hall, packed with an enthusiastic audience, resonated with applause and exclamations of “wah wah” as his ghazals echoed throughout the venue.

Former president of Ghazal Manch Makwanpur, Devaraj Tiwari, also delivered a congratulatory message along with a ghazal recitation. Vice president Hari Poudel delivered the welcome speech. The event was smoothly hosted by Kamal Nepal and Gauri Kandel, while current acting president of Ghazal Manch Chitwan, Lekhram Sapkota, also offered best wishes.
