As Maghe Sankranti approaches, the main vegetable market of the valley, Kalimati, has seen a rise in consumer activity for taro and other root vegetables. Various types of taro are being bought and sold in Kalimati Vegetable Market, targeting the festival crowd.

Currently, varieties such as Panchaule, Singane Pindalu, Dudhe Pindalu, Ghartarul, Van Tarul, Simal Tarul, Pani Tarul, Hattipaule, Patle, Akase Tarul, Nepali Tarul, and Red Tarul are witnessing increased trade. 

The demand has surged due to the traditional practice of consuming taro during Maghe Sankranti, resulting in a notable rise in market transactions.
