‘Buddha’s Country Nepal’ Song Released
Kathmandu — The patriotic song “Buddha’s Country Nepal”, based on poet Khemnath Dahal’s epic Shwetpatra, was released on Sunday in Kathmandu during a special ceremony. The event was attended by Nepal Sanskrit University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Kul Prasad Koirala as the chief guest, with senior journalist Purushottam Dahal chairing the program. The song’s video was unveiled with a symbolic switch-on.
The song features vocals and composition by record-holding musician Santosh Shrestha, music arrangement by Raju Karki, curation by SB Muskan, and editing by Prakash Mishra. Filmed and edited by Rajan Kharel, the video features Khemnath Dahal, Usha Dahal, Santosh Shrestha, and Krishna Bhusal. It has been released through Santosh Shrestha’s official YouTube channel.
The program saw participation from various literary figures, artists, and social personalities. Speakers praised the literary value of Shwetpatra and the blending of literature with music, calling the song an excellent creative effort
