Book on Shaivism and Dashnami Sannyasis Released, Unveiled by Defense Minister
Kathmandu — A special ceremony held in the capital marked the official release of the book titled “Shaiva Philosophy, Culture, and Dashnami Sannyasis” "Shaiva Darshan, Sanskriti ra Dashnami Sannyasi." The book was jointly launched by the Honorable Defense Minister Manbir Rai and scholar Prof. Dr. Madhusudan Giri of the Nepal Academy.
Published by the Nepal Academy, the book explores various aspects of Shaiva philosophy, the Dashnami tradition, and Sanatan (eternal) culture. The book is authored by Himal Giri.
Speaking at the event, Prof. Dr. Giri said that books like this help in preserving the identity of the Dashnami Sannyasis and connecting dispersed followers around the world through a unified thread. He expressed gratitude to the Nepal Academy for publishing the book.
Author Himal Giri stated that the main objective of writing the book was to provide insight into the Dashnami Sannyasi tradition and their spiritual practices. He emphasized that such books play a significant role in helping the younger generation understand and connect with their religious and cultural roots.
The program was chaired by Arjun Giri, head of the Arts, Literature, and Culture Department of the Nepal Dashnami Society.
