Pokhara, Nepal – A grand inauguration ceremony was held for Bagaincha Resort and Spa, a newly built eco-friendly luxury resort located at Lakeside, Pokhara. The resort, which blends tradition, modernity, and nature, has been developed by Anshubhara Group and was officially inaugurated by the Honorable Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Nepal.
During the event, Minister Deuba emphasized that enterprises rooted in sustainable tourism, local production, and social responsibility are crucial for shaping Nepal's future. “It is heartening to see the younger generation getting into business. If we work as hard here as we do abroad, there are countless possibilities within Nepal. The mindset of doing something in one’s own country is positive,” she said.
She praised Bagaincha for adopting the concept of sustainable tourism and stated that such investment-friendly projects would not only promote tourism in Pokhara but also contribute significantly to the country's overall tourism sector.
She further added that in the past six months, the government has taken commendable steps to create an investment-friendly environment and emphasized the need to continue fostering such conditions for the growth of tourism and other sectors.
Former Chief Minister of Gandaki Province, Khagaraj Adhikari, said the investment in Bagaincha Resort and Spa would have a multidimensional impact on Pokhara’s tourism, employment, and local products.
Bindu Kumar Thapa, Minister for Social Development, Youth, and Sports in Gandaki Province and Chairman of Anshubhara Group, said the resort has not only been developed with a focus on business success but also prioritizes social responsibility and environmental preservation. He stressed the importance of fully operationalizing the Pokhara International Airport and the Korala border point for long-term tourism growth. He also requested Minister Deuba to initiate direct flights from India, China, and other countries and strengthen bilateral cooperation.
Managing Director and resort operator Saugat Thapa stated that Bagaincha was envisioned as a “green retreat within the city,” where every structure, material, and service is designed to reconnect guests with nature. He described Bagaincha as a fusion of thought, rest, and rejuvenation, and credited the realization of the dream to the guidance and support of his father, Bindu Kumar Thapa.
He added that Anshubhara Group has also invested in hospitality, real estate, commercial malls, automobiles, and agriculture.
Bagaincha Resort and Spa offers room rates ranging from USD 150 to 350. The resort has 32 rooms, including four categories of luxury suites: Standard, Executive, Arbor Suite, and Bagaincha Suite—all featuring private balconies with lush green views.
The resort features the Taro Poolside Bar, Marich Indo-Chinese Restaurant, and Umami Pan–Asian Restaurant, offering a diverse multinational culinary experience. Ingredients used in the food are sourced from the resort’s own organic farm.
A standout feature of Bagaincha is its zero plastic policy. It prioritizes the use of natural materials like wood and stone, as well as products from women entrepreneurs. Items crafted by single women and traditional utensils from the Raute community are used, turning the resort into a living space for cultural preservation.
In terms of climate awareness, the resort incorporates rainwater harvesting, use of electric vehicles, and preservation of local biodiversity.
The spa services include traditional Nepali healing techniques, yoga, singing bowl therapy, and sound healing as part of its wellness offerings. Additionally, guests are offered “Bagaincha Special Tea” made from local medicinal herbs for a unique and rejuvenating experience.
Bagaincha Resort and Spa is expected to set a new standard in Nepal’s tourism industry, promoting sustainable tourism while preserving cultural heritage and supporting the local economy.
